Batasiolo, BARBARESCO DOCG, 750 ml, Still Red Wine, Dry and Fresh Wine

£31.40

Distinctive Features: Barbaresco is a rounded and balanced wine that is appreciated over time with a beautiful balsamic vein accompanied by hints of wild berries and liquorice.
Vinification: The Nebbiolo grapes, harvested by hand in the first half of October, are destemmed, macerated and left to ferment on the skins for at least 10-12 days in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, with regular pumping over. It is aged in Slavonian oak casks and French oak barrels followed by ageing in stainless steel vats. Refining continues in the bottle after this time.
Grape Type: Thin skin, long vegetative cycle, light colour and noble astringency are the predominant varietal characteristics of the symbol of Piedmont and Italy in the world.
Terroir: The slopes surrounding Barbaresco, Treiso and Neive are characterised by lower altitudes and much steeper slopes than the neighbouring Barolo appellation. The soils geology of Miocene and marine origin derives from the calcareous and sedimentary marls that gradually emerged when the ancient sea retracted.
Brand: Human experience, tradition, research and innovation – strong of the founding values of Batasiolo, the age-old wine-making tradition becomes contemporary excellence.
