Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Founded in 1731, Bouchard Père et Fils is a winery in the Cote d'Or, in Burgundy, rich in history and tradition and since 1995 it has been owned by the Maison Champagne Henriot. The company, now led by Stéphane Follin-Arbelet, owns approximately 130 hectares of vineyards in some of the most prestigious appellations of Burgundy, such as Chevalier-Montrachet, Corton-Charlemagne, and Clos Vougeot. The Pinot Noir grapes come from vineyards located in the heart of the Pommard appellation on soils of limestone origin with traces of iron. After vinification, the finished wine rests in French oak barrels (20-30% of which are new) for approximately 1 year. The Pommard Premier Cru du Bouchard Pere & Fils is an elegant and well-structured wine with a brilliant dark ruby red color. On the nose, it shows a broad aromatic profile with notes of blackberry and black cherry, hints of undergrowth and wood. On the palate, it is firm and full-bodied with dense and well-integrated tannins. It has a strong character and a long and fruity finish. It is ready to drink now but can remain in the cellar for several years. Excellent with Coq au Vin and roast guinea fowl.
