Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. With its thousand-year history, Château de Meursault is one of the most prestigious Burgundy estates. Located in Meursault, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, the estate extends over 65 hectares of vineyards cultivated organically and distributed between Puligny-Montrachet and Aloxe-Corton. The Pinot Noir grapes come from the 1er Cru Les Peuillets vineyard, which extends over just over one and a half hectares at the foot of the hill and is divided into two plots. Here the vines enjoy an eastern exposure and sink their roots into slightly stony clay-limestone soils. After a period of cold maceration and fermentation, the finished wine rests in a mix of new (30%) and used barrels and steel tanks for 15 months. Savigny-Les-Beaunes Premier Cru Les Peuillets is an elegant and expressive wine with an intensely fruity aromatic profile with notes of cassis, raspberry, and cherry, and hints of violet and spice in the background. On the palate, it is round and well-structured, soft and generous. It has firm and well-integrated tannins and a long and slightly spicy finish. Try it with beef bourguignon, grilled lamb chops, or a juicy Rib-eye steak.
