Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. No need to decant, but best to open it an hour before service. Founded in 1995 in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine des Clos extends over approximately 6 hectares of vineyards spread across the appellations of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Beaune, and Chablis. The philosophy of the estate is based on total respect for nature, with the exclusion of chemicals and pesticides, and on traditional practices in the cellar, to favor the full expression of the grape varieties and the different terroirs. The organically grown Pinot Noir grapes for this refined wine are hand-picked in the Premier Cru Les Crots vineyard, located in the commune of Nuits-Saint-Georges in the Côte d'Or. Here the vines, over forty years old, enjoy an eastern exposure on a steep slope with typical limestone-rich soils. After vinification in oak vats, the wine rests in oak barrels (only a third of which are new). Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Les Crots is an intensely colored wine with ruby red tones. On the nose, it reveals a fragrant and elegant aromatic profile with notes of red and black fruits, dried flowers, and licorice. On the palate, it has a medium body and a great balance between tannins and acidity. It is characterful, with a silky texture and a long, gently fruity finish. Try it with beef fillet or grilled lamb fries.
