Domaine Du Pegau Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reservee Blanc 2023

£41.35

Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. No need to decant, but best to open it half an hour before service. Located in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, in the heart of the appellation area, Domaine Pegau has been owned by the Feraud family for generations and today has around 22 hectares of vineyards predominantly planted with Grenache, as well as other varieties among the 12 others authorized in the Châteauneuf du Pape blend. The white grape vines are farmed according to biodynamic principles. Produced in limited quantities, Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reservee Blanc is a blend of Clairette, Grenache Blanc, Bourboulenc, and Roussanne. The grapes are selected and harvested manually from vineyards located on clay-limestone soils. After fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature, the wine always rests in steel for 8 months to enhance the fresh character of Clairette. In the glass, the wine reveals a bright color with pale golden tones. Its aromatic profile is lively and fragrant with clear notes of citrus, pear, and stone fruit, intertwined with hints of white flowers. On the palate, it is fresh and juicy, with a marked acidic vein and a medium-light body. The finish is long and elegant and recalls notes of lemon. It is the ideal wine for sushi and fish carpaccio and also goes well with all seafood.
