This is a lovely, old-school sort of wine, a classic Médoc with a preponderance of Merlot. An indulgent, suave and refined wine.
Dark purple-red with powerful, ripe, earthy, blackcurrant aromas and exhibits classic cedar wood, tobacco leaf, cassis, licorice and some balsam wood notes in a strong, medium to full-bodied, layered style with good opulence, purity and overall harmony. Dense, with fine sweetness on the attack, a high tannin level and good purity. It will continue to provide delicious drinking for a many more years.
