Joe's Tasting Note: "The name gives it away, but even so it’s surprising to think of this wine grown a thousand metres up in the mountains. Here the Mediterranean warmth becomes ski-resort cool at night giving this wine real verve and bright spice. It’s like a Bordeaux with Chateauneuf-du-Pape’s warm and earthy charm. And delicious.
The wines of IXSIR blend rich varieties of grapes cultivated from carefully selected terroirs that symbolize the diversity of Lebanon.
Warmth, sharpness, maturity and character are the dominant traits of this wine.
Imprinted with mature fruits, its delicate and complex bouquet varies between an oaked aroma and red and black fruits.
Notes of blackberry and blackcurrant blended with a fine “empyreumatic” touch give the wine a soft and complex character.
Its final silky taste makes it a pleasant and accessible wine, to share in a relaxed environment.
Food Pairing Suggestions: Roasted red meats; lamb, duck and beef.
