PRODUCER - Established in 1638 by Christiano Kopke and his son, Nicolau Kopke. They came to Portugal as representatives of the Hanseatic League. The House of Kopke is the eldest porto wine export firm.
TASTING NOTES - Bright golden colour with a reddish rim. Fragrant bouquet, with prevailing aromas of almond and honey, and a note of candied orange peel. Smooth and velvety on the palate. Delicate, unctuous and wonderfully balanced. An elegant and persistent finish.
PAIRING - Chilling before serving reveals all its finesse and sophistication, especially when drunk with desserts made with caramel, dried fruit and spice. Try caramel fondant with apple and ginger jelly, tarte tatin, creme brulee and medium-strength cheeses.
