The Seifried story begins in 1973 when Austrian born Hermann Seifried and his New Zealand wife Agnes had a dream of making wines in New Zealand's sunshine capital - Nelson.
Against much scepticism they planted their first vineyard near Nelson, on the northern tip of New Zealand’s South Island. Seifried is now known as a true industry pioneer having started what has become a thriving commercial industry in the South Island.
In 2016 the winery celebrated 40 years since the first harvest. The last four decades have seen significant change, with the New Zealand industry now recognised as world leading, particularly with Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, but also for Syrah, Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. Today Seifried farm over 250 hectares of vineyards, across nine sustainably-accredited vineyard locations scattered throughout the Nelson region.
The Seifried Estate range is the wineries premium label. Fruit is harvested from vines in excess of eight years of age, and the style is pure, with a rich tones and mouthfeel.
This wine has beautiful scented characters of rose petal, toffee apple and candied ginger. Appealing floral flavours together with gentle spice leaves a generous finish on the palate.
