Deep, clear colour, shiny and with good intensity. On the nose there are fresh red fruit aromas (strawberry and raspberry), stone fruits (cherry) and a slight floral touch.
On the palate it is rich and dry with a balanced acidity that accentuates its fruity character, and with an elegant finish.
Quinta do Bucheiro, located in Celeirós do Douro, has been producing wines for over three hundred years, and has been in the family of Dr. Joaquim Pereira since the 19th Century. It is in these lands, steeped in history, that the 1st category varieties of the Douro Region are cultivated, which are the basis of the Port wine called Quinta do Bucheiro and the DOC's called Ceirós.
Quinta do Bucheiro maintains tradition, with the objective of producing wines with an unparalleled richness, which gives them a unique characteristic and profile.
Notable wine grower and scientist, Dr. Joaquim Pereira, was primarily responsible for the control of phylloxera, a pest that at the time had almost completely decimated the vineyards of the Douro and other European wine-growing regions. His work allowed the wine-growing reconstruction of both Portugal and Europe, and today he is fondly remembered as the Saviour of the Douro.
